VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Our wonderful volunteers make a difference in the lives of older adults by generously giving of their time and talents. Each year, more than 125 volunteers donate more than 9,600 hours of service to the Hollywood Senior Center. From greeting visitors to folding newsletters to preparing and serving low-cost meals, our volunteers are critical to our work in assisting older adults in leading independent, secure, healthy and fulfilled lives within their community.

 Whatever your age, interest, passions and skills are, we are confident that we can find a rewarding volunteer experience for you at the Hollywood Senior Center.  WEEKLY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

• Gift Shop clerk
• Thrift Shop clerk
• Tuesday soup & sandwich   10:00 am – 1:00 pm
• Thursday soup & sandwich   10:00 am – 1:00 pm
• Friday soup & sandwich (2^nd & 4^th Fridays)  10:00 am – 1:00 pm
• Receptionist   8:30 am – 12:30 pm  or   12:30 pm – 4:30pm
• Sweep sidewalks and entries to Center

 MONTHLY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

• Assist with Pancake Breakfast – 3^rd Saturday  7:00 – 11:00 am
• Newsletter mailing – usually last Monday   8:30 – 11:00 am
• Client status check phoning – 2 to 3 hours per month
• Center participant “buddy” – could be weekly
• Serve on the Advisory Committee – 4^th Tuesday  10:00 – noon
• Serve on the Board of Directors – 4^th Wednesday  4:00 – 6:00 pm
• Serve on the Finance Committee – 2^nd Thursday  7:30 – 9:30 am

 OTHER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

• Teach a class
• Lead a discussion or an activity
• Assist with a fund raising event
• Organize an advocacy campaign
• Rake leaves or week around front and side of Center
